If you currently own a Viewsat, CaptiveWorks, Coolsat, Dreambox, Viewsonic or any other brand of satellite receiver that received up-date files via a USB or SERIAL port it is still completely functional to view programming from many satellites except the following satellites: Echostar 3, 5, 7 and 10 ... Nimiq 1, 2 or 3. The programming from those satellites now require the newer "Nagra 3" files and none are available on the internet or elsewhere. For over 8 years these brands all received programming from the satellites above ... but will not now or in the future. This recent change in North America occured in Europe about 5 years ago and to this date no "Nagra 3" files are available there either. You can reposition your satellite dish to receive programming from another satellite that does not require file up-dates and reconfigure your existing receiver. With literally hundreds of thousands of satellite receivers not receiving programming now from the satellites seen above we are extremely busy installing new receivers that get automatic up-dates via a high speed internet connection. We are not repositioning existing satellite dishes or reconfiguring receivers at this time but may be doing so in the spring of next year. |
